| Recensione di www.metalminstrel.co: Che avrebbe mai pensato che Dokken nel corso del 2008 dovrebbe rilasciare un album che suona come una naturale follow-up del meraviglioso trio denti e unghie, Sotto aspetto e la chiave e Indietro per l'attacco? Well, not me anyway. Beh, non mi comunque. And when I tell you that the riffmaster himself George Lynch isn’t in the band nowadays it’s even more sensational. E quando vi dico che la riffmaster stesso George Lynch non è nella banda oggi è ancora più sensazionale. Jon Levin has done a great work in recreating the magic guitar sound and style that were found on these classic albums from the eighties. Jon Levin ha svolto un grande lavoro nel ricreare la magia del suono di chitarra e di stile che sono stati trovati su queste classico album da anni ottanta. Even if it might feel speculative to copy the successful formula from the heydays this is what every fan of Dokken has been longing for in so many years (or tears maybe…). Anche se ciò potrebbe sentirsi speculativi per copiare il successo della formula heydays questo è ciò che ogni fan di Dokken è stato nel desiderio di tanti anni (o forse lacrime…). Standing On The Outside leaves you with a smile on your face since it’s classic Dokken with effective and driven guitars and catchy melodies. In piedi sulla parte esterna si lascia con un sorriso sul viso poiché è classico con Dokken efficace e guidato chitarre e melodie catchy. But what becomes more than evident right from the beginning is that Don Dokken isn’t the vocalist he used to be. Ma che cosa diventa più che evidente fin dall'inizio è che Don Dokken non è il cantante ha usato essere. His vocal range has decreased dramatically through the years and he stays in the middle register all the way through the record. La sua gamma vocale è ridotto in modo significativo nel corso degli anni ed egli rimane in mezzo registrare tutte le modalità attraverso il record. This, together with the fact that the compositions with a few exceptions lack really strong choruses makes my happiness about the musical direction fade a bit. On songs like Heart Of Stone, Judgement Day and This Fire however Dokken proves that they not only sound great but also is in possession of the melodies that they used to deliver. A canzoni come cuore di pietra, Sentenza Giorno e questo fuoco Dokken tuttavia dimostra che essi non solo suono grande ma è anche in possesso delle melodie che hanno usato da consegnare. Not on par with their old stuff but by far better than I ever could imagine. Non alla pari con la loro roba vecchia, ma di gran lunga meglio che io abbia mai potuto immaginare. Lightning Strikes Again leaves me with puzzled emotions. Lightning Strikes Again mi lascia perplesso con le emozioni. I am overwhelmed about how the album sounds but a bit disappointed about some of the compositions. Sono sopraffatto su come l'album suoni, ma un po 'deluso alcuni dei composizioni. This is for sure a must for every fan of Dokken but I’m pretty confident they won’t win some new fans with this disc. Questo è sicuramente un must per ogni appassionato di Dokken ma sono piuttosto fiducioso che non vincere alcuni nuovi tifosi con questo disco. This is an admirable attempt that only partly works.
